Even bijpraten...(1)

Je dacht misschien, vanwege de stilte hier op het blog, dat het maar rustig was bij EQP...

You might have thought things were quiet over here at EQP...

In tegendeel! Het is hier een drukte van jewelste geweest! Stoffen, patronen, Show & Tells en de allereerste workshops met onze eigen stoffen!
Maar laat ik bij het begin beginnen...

On the contrary! It has been quite a rollercoaster of events here! Fabrics, patterns, Show & Tells and the first classes with our own fabrics!
But let's start at the beginning...

Op zaterdag 15 oktober stond er een uitstap gepland naar Patch & Stitch in Weert. Wendy had me in de zomer een mailtje gestuurd met de vraag of het geen leuk idee was om een Show & Tell te organiseren.

Saturday October 15, I planned a trip to Patch & Stitch in Weert (the Netherlands). This Summer, Wendy had send me an e-mail to ask if I would be interested in giving a Show & Tell.

Dat bleek zeker een leuk idee, want er schreven zich zoveel dames in dat er zelfs een extra Show & Tell bij kwam!

It proved to be a good idea, because so many people were interested that we had to organise an extra Show & Tell!

Het was voor mij een eerste bezoekje aan de mooie winkel. Er is een ruime collectie stoffen, waar je heel hebberig van wordt (prachtige reproductiestoffen, een mooie collectie jaren 30 printjes en nog zoveel meer...) en een warme ontvangst.

It was my first visit to the lovely shop. Wendy offers a large collection of fabrics, which makes you want to hoard even more (beautiful reproduction prints, a collection of bright feedsack prints and much more...) and a warm welcome. 

Ik had zelf niet veel tijd om rond te kijken, want al snel stonden de eerste dames op de stoep. Voor en na de Show & Tell konden ze neuzen tussen onze patronen en natuurlijk in de winkel van Wendy. Ze had voor de gelegenheid ook buiten en in de aanbouw nog plaats gemaakt. Binnenkort wil ze uitbreiden, maar ook zo was het fijn kiezen uit al dat moois!

There wasn't much time for me to look around, because the first ladies soon arrived. Before and after the Show & Tell, we offered our patterns for sale and of course they could choose some matching fabrics from the shop. Wendy had enlarged the shop, by incorporating the terrace and annex. What a lovely way to display the quilts and fabrics!

Een fijne dag gaat altijd snel voorbij heb ik de indruk, maar iedereen had het enorm naar zijn haar zin gehad en is vol inspiratie naar huis gegaan. Nog even gebabbeld met Wendy en Marc en Wendy's quilt bewonderd die op de longarm lag en toen was het ook voor mij tijd om weer te vertrekken.

A lovely day always seems to go by too fast, I think, but everyone enjoyed oneself and went home inspired. I chatted some more with Wendy and Marc and admired Wendy's quilt, which she was quilting with her longarm machine and then it was time for me to head back home.

Afgelopen zaterdag was er opnieuw een vol programma, dit keer bij Atelier Fat Quarters in Culemborg, maar daarover later meer!

Crazy Cat Angel

Ken je de 'Crazy Cat Lady'? De oudere, alleenstaande dame, die haar huis deelt met minstens 20 verschillende katten?

Do you know the 'Crazy Cat Lady'? The single, elderly lady, who shares her house with at least 20 cats?

Bij ons woont er maar 1 pluizig vriendje in huis, dus we komen er niet eens in de buurt! Maar een Crazy Cat Angel kon natuurlijk niet in de Angelcollectie ontbreken!

With only one cat friend living with us, we're not even close! But a Crazy Cat Angel couldn't miss in our Angel collection!

Het is zo'n leuk werkje dat ik helemaal ben vergeten om tussendoor foto's te maken. Nou ja, het gaat om het eindresultaat. En dat is een gezellige boel geworden! Herken je Thijsje? ;o)

It was such a nice project to work on that I totally forgot to take pictures. Well, it's the final result that counts, right? There's a whole bunch of cats on this little quilt. Do you recognize Thijs? ;o)

De rand en hoekblokken zijn heel bijpassend in 'crazy patchwork' gemaakt. Het ziet er lekker vrolijk en 'rommelig' uit en het is helemaal niet moeilijk te maken!

The border and corner blocks are made in 'crazy patchwork', to match the theme. I love the quirky look and it's not difficult at all!

Het patroon van de Crazy Cat Angel vind je in onze webwinkel. De pakketjes zijn al allemaal uitverkocht, maar voor zo'n klein quiltje heb je vast zelf wel wat passende stofjes en een beetje borduurgaren liggen.
